The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAA-P) has suspended the air operator’s certificates (AOCs) of two Filipino domestic carriers South East Asian Airlines and SkyJet Airlines. Following an inspection by a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) assessment team, the safety agency raised concerned over accident prevention, flight data monitoring, maintenance control and quality assurance. CAA-P DG William Hotchkiss revoked the AOC of both airlines following the subsequent EASA report. The AOC suspensions will remain in force until “CAA-P is assured that the necessary corrective actions and compliance with aviation safety standards have been undertaken by the airline operators.”
