Sheila Tendo, the ex-boss of Rwanda Air in Uganda, embroiled in a battle with the carrier over sh201.5m allegedly owed to Tendo as damages for unfair dismissal. Tendo, who was terminated from the airline on September 22, 2008, filed a suit at the High Court in Kampala on November 19. Tendo is demanding overtime pay from September 2007 to September 2008 and sh35.6m unremitted National Social Security Fund contributions from 2000 to 2008. She wants sh10.5m for terminating her contract without three months’ notice and is also demanding sh10.5m for unfair termination as stipulated in the Employment Act, 2006.
