The United Arab Emirates and Portugal have agreed an “open” Air Services Agreement (ASA) and signed a Record of Discussion. The agreement, which replaces an old agreement initialled on May 2, 2005 and includes new articles on safety, aviation security, designation and tariffs clauses, was signed in Dubai on December 16. The agreement was initialled by Saif Mohammad Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Luiz Anotonio Foseca de Almeida, Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Portuguese Republic.
