The Iranian government’s Transportation Committee has stated that the Sepahan Airlines IrAn-140 turboprop that crashed in Tehran last week, did not conform to airworthiness standards.Ahmad Jabbari, head of the Transportation Committee, said: “our investigations indicate that the IrAn-140 Sepahan Airlines aircraft did not meet international standards and it was not supposed to even fly on that day.”The statement follows Iranian media reports that the relatives of the passengers that were killed in the crash have staged rallies in Tehran, protesting at an alleged lack of information from the government over the incident.
