AirAsia’s proposal to invest $14.5m in a new venture with Tata Sons to begin a new low-cost airline has been approved by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board, which vets foreign investment proposals. The joint venture team still needs other approvals including those from the civil aviation ministry to start the airline.
