The largest US airlines posted an on-time arrival rate of 78.8% in August, down from the 79.1% on-time rate from August 2012, according to the US Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report. Airlines reported two tarmac delays of more than three hours on domestic flights and no tarmac delays of more than four hours on international flights in August.
