The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced it will start grounding airlines that are indebted to it. As a result, a number of airlines are already seeking to reconcile their accounts, according to the Alhaji Muhammed Tukur, the assistant secretary-general of Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON). “Our members should take this advantage to pay what they are owing FAAN. Again, I want to stress that the FAAN should give the operators long notice of payment rather than writing them a letter on Friday to pay before Monday or they will be grounded,” he said.
