Spain’s antitrust regulator, National Competition Commission (CNC), has approved the merger of Chilean airline LAN and Brazilian carrier TAM without conditions. Last month, Chile’s antitrust tribunal TDLC also approved the deal but imposed 11 conditions, which forced LAN to appeal to the Supreme Court. On Monday, small Chilean rival airline PAL said it had appealed TDLC’s approval of the takeover to the same court.
