A report to the US Congress has detailed that American Airlines has replaced at least seven senior-level maintenance executives in the past year following a federal investigation of the airline’s maintenance practices. Some four of the seven executives to be replaced were named by whistleblowers following an investigation into the airline’s maintenance department although the official report does not assign blame to any individual.
