Pratt & Whitney Canada expands engine MRO services in Singapore

Pratt & Whitney Canada has launched new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for helicopter and regional turboprop engines at its Singapore facility, expanding support for operators across the Asia-Pacific region.

The new services cover the PT6C-67C engine, which powers the Leonardo AW139, and the PW127XT engine used on ATR 42/72, with future application on the Deutsche Aircraft D328eco. The move is aimed at supporting more than 300 AW139 helicopters operating in the region, while also increasing global MRO capacity for next-generation turboprop engines.

Anthony Rossi, vice president of customer service at Pratt & Whitney Canada, said the expansion would allow the company to better meet rising demand by providing “advanced, localised maintenance solutions and reducing turnaround times.”

The Singapore facility, which has been in operation since 1983, will now introduce turboshaft overhaul capabilities for the first time, including full PT6C-67C overhauls supported by a new modular test cell, alongside expanded overhaul services for the PW127XT.\

The PT6C-67C and PW100 engine families are among the most widely used globally. Pratt & Whitney Canada has delivered more than 3,000 PT6C-67C engines, which have accumulated over 10 million flight hours, while the broader PW100 family has surpassed 220 million flight hours worldwide, including 300,000 hours for the PW127XT variant.
