Colin originally trained and graduated as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic, spending 12 years with Australian Airlines in Melbourne. He has gained Aircraft Maintenance Engine Licenses on various aircraft from both Australian CASA and UK CAA. Colin has also previously worked with Ansett Airlines and British Midland Airways.

Colin holds a private pilot license with an instructor rating and also regularly flies and instructs in gliders.

Alok Wadhawan, co-head of Investec Aviation, commented: “I am delighted that Colin has joined Investec. He has unrivalled experience in the aviation industry and we will benefit greatly from his expertise in overseeing large aviation portfolios.”

Colin Short said: “I am excited to be joining Investec which has great reputation for the quality of its advice and execution, and for being a pioneer in the sector. I look forward to working with the team as Investec continue to strengthen its global presence in this asset class.”
