Ethiopian Airlines chief financial officer, Kassim Geresu, has been appointed to lead Malawian Airlines, the newly reorganized airline of Malawi. Ethiopian airlines owns a 49% stake in the new carrier. Ethiopian Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Tewolde GebreMariam, said in a statement:“I am confident that he has the requisite academic background and experience in the airline industry to ensure the successful take-off of Malawian Airlines.” Before his Malawi appointment, Geresu served as chief financial officer of Ethiopian Airlines since October 2010.
