Air Malta CEO Philip Micallef has confirmed that he will not renew his two-year contract when it ends in October this year. Speaking to local newspaper, Micallef said that he will honour his contract “to the last day” but when asked whether he would renew his contract he said, “No, I’m over 62 now.” Air Malta will announce his successor at a later date. The airline is currently in negotiations with Alitalia to become an strategic partner and own a 49 per cent share in Air Malta.
