Virgin Atlantic Flight VS075, enroute to Orlando from Manchester, UK airport was forced to divert to London Gatwick after it developed a “technical issue”. The airline described it as a “precautionary diversion” to enable it to investigate the issue. The 747 aircraft developed an engine problem shortly after takeoff from Manchester airport and spent an hour circling over Liverpool Bay where it dumps fuel before heading to London Gatwick. The aircraft – carrying a total of 433 passengers – landed safely and the passengers were transferred onto another aircraft.
