UAE expresses disappointment not to be granted landing rights in Canada

The United Arab Emirates has expressed its disappointment of Canada’s refusal to grant additional landing rights to UAE carriers.

UAE’s ambassador to Canada, Mohammed Abdullah al-Ghafli commentated to national press that the failure will certainly affect relations between the two countries. As a result of the talks breaking down, Canada is preparing to relocate forces bound for Afghanistan to Cyprus from a base near Dubai. The UAE has given Canada 30 days to relocate its troops.

Emirates and several USA carries were looking to secure more landing slots in Canada, as they say the six weekly flights currently allowed are not enough to cover demand.
