Thomas Cook Group Airlines reaches TrueChoice Transitions agreement with GE on CF6 engines

Thomas Cook Group Airlines signed a five-year TrueChoice Transitions agreement with GE Aviation for the time and material to repair and overhaul its fleet of CF6-80C2 engines that power its eight Boeing 767 aircraft.

“The Boeing 767 fleet is the backbone of our German long-haul fleet. It safely and reliably carries millions of passengers to their holiday destinations each year,” states Bernd Bechtel, Head of Group Fleet Management Thomas Cook Group Airlines. “Therefore we are glad to have found an experienced partner who can ensure the highest quality. We were also convinced by GE Aviation’s high level of service and professionalism when it comes to maintenance, repair and overhaul of commercial airplanes.”

“GE Aviation understands the expectation of a leisure travel provider like Thomas Cook Group Airlines, which needs the most reliability and dependable engines for its holiday traveling customers,” said Kevin McAllister, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation Services. “With a TrueChoice Transitions agreement, Thomas Cook Group Airlines will have access to the high-quality material and workscopes that GE has perfected to ensure its engine assets stand at the ready for its vacation travelers.”
