Summit Aviation Unveils New Hanger and Paint Facility

Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup Company, was established in 1960 and has been a full service Federal Aviation Administration Certified Repair Station since 1966. Summit broke ground on its 550‐ acre site on June 9, 2010 for the development, which includes a 37,400 square‐foot hangar, 9,200 square‐foot paint facility, two cold storage units and an additional 11,400 square‐feet of support and office space. Summit’s parent company, Greenwich AeroGroup, has invested $12 million in capital since acquiring the facility in 2008. DEDO awarded Summit a performance‐based grant from the Delaware Strategic Fund in the amount of $1.36 million to help the company expand the site and add up to 188 new jobs over a three year time period.
