Singapore Airlines has reported that the engine on one of its Airbus A380s shut down minutes after takeoff on Monday from Singapore bound for Hong Kong and had to return to the airport. The aircraft was fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines. The airline, Rolls-Royce and Airbus are all reported to be looking into the incident. A Singapore Airlines spokesperson was quoted in local press that the incident was not an engine failure but a shut down due to vibrations.
