Aerostar contracts with Fastjet for A319 maintenance

Romanian aerospace company Aerostar has won a contract from Tanzanian-based low-cost carrier Fastjet for the heavy maintenance of two of the airline’s fleet of three Airbus A319 airliners.

The first of the aircraft arrived at Aerostar’s Bacau facility in February for its annual ‘C’ check and was redelivered on March 13, with the second aircraft arriving at Bacau on March 14.

Announcing this new contract, Remus Vlad, Aerostar’s Civil MRO Business Manager said: “We have worked hard to secure this new contract from Fastjet and look forward to providing a first-class service to this important new customer.”

Responding, Mr Dave Thomas, Head of Training and Technical Support for Fastjet added: “We selected Aerostar for this heavy maintenance work following a combination of recommendations from other airlines and an attractive price for the work.”
