A tyre on an American Airlines a Boeing 767 aircraft from Paris caught fire upon landing at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The fire spread to the landing gear forcing the 220 passengers to be evacuated. Eight people were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The airline, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating how the fire started. The pilot reported some tyres caught fire upon landing on brake No 7 and that the smell had entered the plane’s ventilation system.
