Spanish carrier plans to add three new aircraft to its fleet before the end of the year. Along with the six aircraft the airline reached agreement on in 2010 for service introduction between April 2010 and June 2011, Vueling will operate a total fleet of 42 aircraft in 2011. The six aircraft will help boost expansion from its base in Barcelona, while the other three new aircraft will help to renew the airline’s ageing fleet, taking the average age to less than six years by 2012. All aircraft will be leased, 8 A320s and one A319.
