Four airlines have refused to deliver aircraft to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on ‘wet lease’ because of security fears. The unidentified Eastern Europe and Central Asian carriers had expressed interest in providing four aircraft to PIA when it issued a tender in early June; but after the recent attacks on PIA aircraft in Karachi and Peshawar, the offers have been withdrawn.
