Aircraft lessor Guggenheim Aviation Partners has confirmed it has cancelled its remaining order for two 747-8Fs. The lessor already cancelled the first half of the order for four freighters in October 2006. “The cancellation was a direct result of the delays and the commercial consequences of those delays,” said Steve Rimmer, chief executive of Guggenheim Aviation. “We were very disappointed and surprised that we were left with no alternative but to terminate our agreement to purchase the two 747-8Fs.” The 747-8 program has been blighted with delays caused by design and production issues.
