BOC Aviation orders 12 shipsets of Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan engines

BOC Aviation has made a firm order for 12 shipsets of Geared TurbofanTM (GTF) engines to power new Airbus A320NEO family aircraft. These aircraft are part of the Company’s existing orderbook.

“This order reflects our confidence in the GTF engine as a fuel-efficient solution that will power a significant portion of our A320 family fleet,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, BOC Aviation. “We’re hearing good feedback from operators on the fuel economy of the GTF engine, and look forward to delivering the benefits of this engine to our airline customers.”

“We value the long standing relationship we’ve developed with BOC Aviation over the past 20 years,” said Rick Deurloo, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support at Pratt & Whitney. “We’re honoured to supply it with game-changing technology and economics for its A320NEO and A321NEO aircraft. We anticipate many more years of continued success working together to support the fleet.”
