AWAS delivers Airbus A320 to IndiGo

AWAS has delivered an Airbus A320-200 on lease to existing customer IndiGo. The aircraft is equipped with IAE V2527-A5 engines. This delivery is the first of two sisterships from AWAS’ existing fleet, which will enter service with IndiGo this summer. AWAS now leases a total of four A320 family aircraft to IndiGo.

AWAS says it is pleased to further enhance this long-standing relationship with IndiGo, as the carrier looks to capitalise on India’s increasing demand for point to point low fare air travel. In placing these A320 family aircraft with India’s largest domestic operator, AWAS continues to support IndiGo’s jet aircraft fleet strategy.

IndiGo is India’s largest domestic passenger airline. IndiGo primarily operate in India’s domestic air travel market as a low-cost carrier. Their fleet comprises 135 aircraft, including 22 new generation A320neos. IndiGo currently operate flights connecting to 46 destinations – 39 domestic and 7 international.
