AIR NAMIBIA LEASES THREE ERJ-135S FROM AIR FRANCE REGIONAL

Embraer subsidiary ECC Leasing has arranged the lease of three ERJ-135 regional jets from Air France subsidiary Regional – Compagnie Aérienne Européenne to Air Namibia.

ECC arranged the deal under an exclusive remarketing mandate it had been awarded by Air France Regional. The three Embraer ERJ-135 regional jets will replace some of the airline’s turboprops and are on schedule to be delivered in March.

The aircraft, configured in a 37-seat layout, will be operated from Namibian capital Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH), as well as Eros Airport (ERS), located near Windhoek’s downtown area. They will operate domestic flights within Namibia.

“We are eager to introduce our first ERJ-135 jet, as we wish to bring modern, reliable aircraft to service the growing requirements of the Namibian domestic and inter-regional services,” says Ben Dahwa, general manager, technical operations for Air Namibia. “These regional jets, with an undeniably high level of comfort, will replace our oldest turboprops, improving reliability and quality of service.”

Air Namibia is leasing three 37-seat Embraer ERJ-135 regional jets from Air France subsidiary Regional – Compagnie Aérienne Européenne, in a deal arranged by Embraer subsidiary ECC Leasing Company Limited.
