INSIGHT LOOKS TO AVIATION FUNDS FOR STABLE INVESTMENTS

Insight Investment £169.9m Diversified Target Return fund is targeting aviation funds in a bid to guarantee stable return profiles. Fund managers Steve Waddington and Mike Pinggera have invested in Doric Nimrod Air 2 (DNA2) the Guernsey-based investment trust managed by Doric Asset Finance and Nimrod Capital that buys A380 aircraft to lease them to one airline, in this case Emirates.

The product aims to pay a quarterly dividend equivalent to 9%, which is exactly the stable return Insight is looking for. Waddington, who was an investor in Doric Nimrod Air 1, said: “This is reflective of what we are looking for; an investment with a stable return profile.”

Waddington said DNA1 is now trading on a premium of 114p compared with its float price of 100p.While DNA2 listed on the London Stock Exchange at 200p per share on July 14 and at close on July 29, the shares traded at 223p per share. Both holdings make up 1.5% of the Diversified Target Return fund.
