Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has withdrawn his request for an extraordinary general meeting of the easyJet board of directors in order to remove a board member after the low-cost airline moved to increase its dividend payments. EasyJet’s founder is engaged in a protracted dispute with the low-cost airline and this month called for a vote to remove Rigas Doganis, a non-executive director, from the board.
