General Electric’s has reported that third quarter sales of industrial equipment, including jet engines were sluggish. Revenue of $35.9 billion was $1.7 billion short of estimate which pulled the share price down by 5%. Following the losses reported by GE Capital after the financial crisis hit, GE has been seeking to de-emphasise its reliance on the finance unit, although the latest results show this is proving to be difficult.
