CRUDE FUTURE UP AGAIN

Prices for light sweet crude November delivery rose 2.3% to $83.08 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange traded $1.96 higher at $84.41 a barrel.

Price rose as the economy and equity markets strengthen and by strikes in France that have disrupted production at the country’s 12 refineries.

Hundreds of petrol stations have been closed across France amid protests against raising the retirement age to 62. Flights into France have been cancelled due to a lack of fuel.
