BAD TRADING START TO THE WEEK FOR US AIRLINES

US carriers started the week trading down on previous months, with Delta Air Lines falling the furthest with a 4.86% drop in share price. The drop was the result of the announcement of its fourth quarter results that showed the airline made just $19 million net, even though the same quarter in the previous year showed a loss of $25 million.

Shares in AMR Corporation also dropped slightly by 1.97% to $8.46, while US Airways Group continued the downward trend with a fall of 3.99% to $10.36.
