Malindo Air has received an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to operate commercial flights. This is the news that many have been waiting for since this airline (it could be argued) has a model that is one step ahead of where the likes of Aer Lingus tried to be but failed because it did not have the low-cost base and the scale required at key destinations such as London Gatwick. Malindo is a hybrid low-cost carrier with full business and economy class on all flights. With TVs and meals offered and free baggage
