Empire Airlines, which operates on behalf of FedEx among others, is having trouble retaining pilots and finding new ones. Empire Airlines CEO Tom Komberec has stated to media that he is losing 20% of pilots per annum and is not able to sufficiently fill that void with new pilots, thus there is no margin of new pilots coming through to allow for growth.
