Middle East hubs gain larger share of cargo traffic

Cargo traffic operating out of Middle East hubs has displayed double digit increases for the past 12 months. Freighter aircraft traffic from the new Al Maktoum International airport in Dubai (DWC, generally known as Dubai World Central) for 2014 increased by 18%. There was a 17% increase at Abu Dhabi (AUH) airport for freighter traffic. This is in stark contrast to other freighter centres such as Hong Kong and Shanghai, which saw growth of 6.0% and 7.3%, respectively.
