Colt Aviation orders two A321 converted freighters

Colt Aviation has ordered two converted A321 freighters with options for one more for its Colt Cargo unit US aircraft conversion specialist PacAvi Group.

“The PACAVI A321 freighters are the perfect addition to our fleet of 737-400(F) and 757-200(F) freighters; with the perfect range and payload, state of the art fly-by-wire technology and low operating costs,” says Alex Eckmann, CEO of Colt Aviation.

The carrier is among several recently disclosed clients to have signed on to the firm’s A320/321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion programme which also includes Norway’s Airline Management with six A320(F)s. An additional launch order has been issued by an undisclosed leasing customer while two more orders have not yet been revealed.

The PACAVI Airbus A321 Freighter LITE will carry approximately 27 metric tons of cargo on routes of up to 3,500 nautical miles, depending on load weight.
