Zimbabwe pilots show truth of matters

The Zimbabwe Flights Crew Association chairman, Captain Otis Shonhai, has told parliament that there are now only 35 pilots out of 60 in 2009 working at Air Zimbabwe, with many leaving for new roles outside the country. Many Air Zimbabwe pilots have not received any salary since 2013.

Pilots are working without a contract and for an allowance. Shonhai said that the pilots were staying on hoping that they will eventually be paid in housing and car loans and/or farming land.

Shonhai has called for pilots get a seat on the Air Zimbabwe board. He has also suggested the airline renews its fleet and reopens its route to London to drive revenues.
What a mess.
