Xiamen Airlines announces startup deal with Jiangxi government

Xiamen Airlines and the government of Jiangxi Province have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi province, over the establishment of the first local carrier in Jiangxi together with Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, the start-up carrier named Jiangxi Airlines Co., Ltd. is expected to commence official operations next June, and will be based at Nanchang Changbei International Airport (KHN). The startup will operate B737s.Jiangxi Provincial Party Secretary Qiang Wei said: “Xiamen Airlines are welcomed to invest in Jiangxi. The local economic and social development needs support from aviation industry.”
