Speaking in Texas, Richard Branson, chairman of Virgin Atlantic stated that the airline was considering adding the 787-10 to its fleet of Dreamliners. “It would make a lot of sense for us to have some -10s,” he said. “We are definitely exploring that.” He added that this would be a new order rather than convert some of its 787-9 orders and options to the larger version. Virgin has ordered 16 787-9 with 5 options. It will fly the first 787-9 in September.
