UA carriers are succeeding in inching up fares again with JetBlue leading the increase with a $3 hike each way. American, United, Delta, Southwest, Alaska and Virgin America rapidly followed suit to match fares. As a result, airline share prices were given a boost yesterday. United stock closed up 2.9%, American was up 3.5%, Delta climbed by 2%, Southwest was up by 3.3%, JetBlue rose 3.3% and Spirit was up by 3.2%.
