A disruptive passenger on board a Virgin Blue flight from Indonesia to Melbourne caused the pilot to make an unplanned stop in northwestern Australia. The captain decided to land the aircraft at Broome after the man could be calmed by staff when he was handed into police. One passenger reported that the man was so aggressive “the pilot and the crew feared for the other passengers’ safety”.
