United Continental estimates that it will pay on average US$2.17 to US$2.22 per gallon of fuel for second quarter period, which includes the impact of cash-settled hedge losses. In April, the airline estimated it would pay between US$2.10 and US$2.15 per gallon for the quarter. The price of US crude has increased 3% since that estimate of April 23.
