United close to replacing Chairman

It has been reported that United Continental is close to an agreement to replace Chairman Henry Meyer III, who replaced former Chief Executive Jeff Smisek in September, as part of a broader board overhaul, according to Bloomberg.
Shareholders Altimeter Capital Management and PAR Capital Management have been campaigning for Meyer’s departure, and is seeking a successor with more airline experience.

Former Air Canada CEO Robert Milton and James Whitehurst, a former chief operating officer at Delta Air Lines, are named as the frontrunner for replacing Meyer. However, negotiations are ongoing and a final agreement has not yet been reached.
