China’s Anhui Province is preparing to create two new local airlines: Hefei Airlines and Haifu Airline. Hefei Airlines, created in 2013, is the result of an agreement between Joy Air and Hefei Municipal Government. The airline is awaiting approval from the aviation authorities to begin operations, which it intends to launch using three aircraft from Joy Air but will quickly increase its fleet with new aircraft order from Airbus or Boeing. Haifu Airlines, which has received preliminary approval from CAAC Southeast Regional Administration, plans to operate 50-70 routes with 30 aircraft by 2020.
