Russian carrier Transaero has signed a memorandum of understanding for eight A320neo aircraft at the MAKS Moscow air show. No engines selection was made. Transaero currently operates an all-Boeing fleet apart from a couple of Tupolev Tu-214s. It uses the 737NG for short- and medium-haul services, so its decision to order the A320neo is an important order for Airbus. Meanwhile Transaero Airlines has posted strong revenue growth of RUB32 billion for the first half of 2011, 31.4% more than for the same period last year.
