TIGER MEMBERS GET FARE SALE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Low cost airline Tiger Airways has raised thousands of dollars from its customer by charged a membership fee that gives members priority access to sale fares a day before general release. As fares fall, carriers are looking to attract revenue from other avenues. The innovative revenue driver has attracted thousands of members since its launch. This is despite the fact that membership offers no guarantee of booking fares at sale prices and there is no refunds of the membership fee on cancellation.

Crawford Rix, managing director of Tiger Airways, said the idea originated from its customers. “Our promotions are so popular that many customers have suggested special ‘members-only previews’,” he said.
