Turkish Airlines (THY) chairman Hamdi Topcu has stated that the airline is aiming to operate 180-200 aircraft by the end of 2011, and is targeting 27% growth and $8 billion revenue. The target seems ambitious but potentially achievable as THY earned 6.28 billion liras ($4.06 billion) in the first nine months of 2010, and it earned 7.04 billion liras for the full year in 2009. Analysts are expecting the airline to carry 33 million passengers in 2011, a rise from the 30 million it carried in 2010, and to attain $7 billion in revenue.
