Thai Airways International has posted a third successive quarter of losses. During 2013, the airline’s net loss was 12 billion baht, compared with a profit of 6.2 billion baht in 2012. The fall in the value of the baht against other currencies, prompted by concerns for the Thai economy due to anti-government protests, also impacted on the airline’s balance sheet. Thai’s total passenger load factor for last year fell 2.5 percentage points to 74.1%.
