UK distribution firm Stobart Group, which owns Southend and Carlisle airports, has received approval from the [Irish] Competition Authority to acquire sole control of Aer Arann. “In line with legal requirements, we are advancing plans to facilitate a potential restructuring of the company. These matters remain subject to statutory processes, including those of the Commission for Aviation Regulation. A further announcement will be made upon completion of the process period,” Aer Arann said in a statement.
