In an earnings call, CEO Ben Baldanza has indicated that Spirit Airlines could launch as many as 35 new routes this year. β€œIt will be more connecting dots than adding new dots to the map,” he said, adding that there may be one new destination. The airline plans to grow its capacity during the year by 30.4% overall. Spirit will take 15d aircraft this year – eight A320s, one A320neo and six A321s. The airline also has its sight on Cuba – “Clearly the market is interesting to us,” says Baldanza.
