SkyUp Airlines launches operations

New Ukranian carrier, SkyUp Airlines, has received its air operator’s certificate (AOC) and has leased two 2013-vintage 737-800s, both ex-Malaysian Airlines aircraft. One aircraft has begun operations and the second 737 will be delivered on May 25.

SkyUp will perform International charter flights to leisure destinations on behalf of Join Up!, which is owned by Yuri and Tatyana Alba – the same as SkyUp.

A third 737-700 is scheduled to join the fleet soon, and in March, SkyUp signed a firm order for three 737 MAX 10s and two 737 MAX 8s for delivery from 2023, as well as an option for five more 737 MAXs.
